A Proper Southern Fish Fry

Hey Reader,

This week we are making a Southern fish fry spread with crispy and golden fried catfish, homemade tartar sauce, creamy coleslaw, and corn fritters.

And The Weekend Spread, to help you relax with friends and family, featuring: Mexican street corn pasta salad, easy cinnamon rolls and fruit salad for brunch, and apple cider sangrias to welcome the "ber" months!

On the Menu:

• Main: Southern Fried Catfish - Golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, with that perfectly seasoned cornmeal coating that makes every single bite absolutely amazing.

• Side: Classic Creamy Coleslaw - It's not a proper fish fry without creamy, tangy, Southern coleslaw — made exactly the way my Mama made it and the way her Mama made it before her.

• Side: Homemade Tartar Sauce - So much better than store-bought, this easy sauce is made with simple ingredients like mayo, dill pickles, and a touch of Dijon mustard, and is perfect for serving with crispy fish.

• Side: Southern Fried Corn Fritters - Sweet, savory, studded with corn, and fried to golden perfection, these perfect little bites are crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside.

The Weekend Spread:

Not a menu, but some of my favorite seasonal recipes to enjoy all weekend long.

• Side or Lunch: Mexican Street Corn Pasta Salad - The combination of sweet, charred corn and a creamy, tangy dressing makes this the perfect summer side dish, snack, or light lunch.

• Brunch: Cinnamon Rolls - Sweet, fluffy cinnamon rolls made with a brown sugar cinnamon swirl and topped with vanilla cream cheese icing are outrageously delicious!

• Brunch: Fruit Salad - Toss ripe seasonal fruit with a simple orange juice, honey, and cinnamon dressing and serve with cinnamon rolls for the perfect weekend brunch!

• Brunch: Apple Cider Sangria - It’s light, refreshing, and packed with fall flavors like apple, cinnamon, and zesty citrus to help you welcome the incoming change of seasons!
