Cozy Chili Mac Is A Midweek Menu Star

Hey Reader,

This week we are making cheesy chili mac with an easy side salad, cream corned cornbread muffins, and a cinnamon sugar pizza or dessert.

And The Weekend Spread, to help you relax with friends and family, featuring: homemade apple sauce, sausage and cheese bread, sunshine fruit salad, and crock pot Sloppy Joes.

On the Menu:

• Main: Cheesy Chili Mac - Thick and flavorful chili combined with homemade macaroni and cheese for a classic mashup that’s sure to warm you from the inside out!

• Side: Easy Green Salad - My family never grows tired of this salad because there are endless ways to make it your own when you use your favorite greens, veggies, and toppings!

• Side: Creamed Corn Cornbread Muffins - Once everything is stirred together and baked, you will be blown away by these savory, sweet muffins’ incredible taste and soft texture.

• Dessert: Cinnamon Sugar Dessert Pizza - A sweet twist on classic pizza that marries the comfort of soft, doughy crusts with the warm, sugary embrace of cinnamon.

The Weekend Spread:

Not a menu, but some of my favorite seasonal recipes to enjoy all weekend long.

• Breakfast: Sausage Cheese Bread - Crumbly sausage and melty cheese pockets create an irresistible bread to serve with soup and salad or toasted for breakfast.

• Side: Crock Pot Applesauce - Once you taste homemade applesauce, you’ll never buy the stuff from the store again.

• Snack: Sunshine Fruit Salad - Pick your favorite seasonal fruit, pour on the honey cinnamon dressing, and you’re ready for a delicious dish perfect for serving any time of the year.

• Main: Crock Pot Sloppy Joes - I put everything in the slow cooker in the morning, and I’m ready to go by dinner time.

Southern Corn Salad

Hey Reader! Fresh, crisp salads have always been my thing, and once sweet corn shows up at the market, I know a good one is coming. Here is the twist. I stopped grilling my corn for this salad. A dry cast-iron skillet with no oil chars it more deeply than the grill ever did, and there is not a single reason to step outside for it. Then a splash of buttermilk in the dressing loosens everything up and gives it that real Southern tang. This is the side dish my people call dibs on before the bowl...

Candied Jalapeños

Hey Reader! I keep a jar of these in my fridge at all times, and I mean at all times. The second one gets low, I am already slicing more jalapeños. These are candied jalapeños, also known as cowboy candy, and they hit that sweet-and-spicy note that makes everything better. A spoonful on nachos, a few rings on a burger, or straight over cream cheese and crackers, and that glossy syrup does all the work.
