The Chili That Keeps On Winning

Hey Reader!

This is the chili I make all through football season once the weather turns cool, and it has become the one my family and friends ask for the second the temperature drops.

What means the most to me is hearing from so many of you who have taken this recipe into your own chili cook-offs and come home with the win. One reader beat out 200 other entries at her husband's work contest. Another took first place using this as the base and swapping in chipotles in adobo for a smoky twist.

It is rich, smoky, and built on a long simmer that lets every flavor settle in just right. Whether you are cooking for a tailgate, a cold Friday night, or your own cook-off, this one is a winner.
