IT'S HOT! What I'm Cooking To Beat The Heat

Hey Reader!

Happy 4th of July! It's been hotter than a pepper patch around here, and I'm doing everything I can to keep things cool, especially in the kitchen.

I've put together a list of my weekend eats that are perfect for keeping things cool and delicious...no matter what the temps are outside!

It's Too Hot To Cook

Whipped Ranch Dip

This dip is silky, light, and full of that tangy, herby ranch flavor we all love. Perfect with chips, fresh veggies, and spread on a sandwich!

Bourbon Arnold Palmer

Stay cool this weekend by sipping on a spiked Arnold Palmer made with lemonade, Southern sweet tea, and bourbon!

Country Style Pork Ribs

Let your slow cooker do the heavy lifting and pair with your favorite sides for a complete meal that won't heat up the kitchen.

Cucumber Tomato Avocado Salad

Crisp cucumbers, sweet and juicy tomatoes, and rich, creamy avocado tossed in a zesty homemade dressing.

Crock Pot Baked Beans

Slow-cooked, sweet, and savory baked beans with brown sugar and bacon are a side dish that’s pure perfection!

Classic Creamy Coleslaw

Fantastic as a side or piled high on a pulled pork sandwich, I make slaw just like my Mama and Grandmother made it.

Refrigerator Pickles

No cooking, no canning, no fuss — just fresh cucumbers, a sweet onion, a quick brine, and a few hours in the refrigerator.

Southern Banana Pudding Trifle

All the flavors of classic banana pudding with a few shortcuts to make this delicious dessert into a cool, quick, easy, no-bake trifle.

Shop my Summer Favorites

These are the tools I use in my Southern kitchen to prepare, serve, and host during the summer months!

Happy cooking, friend.
